Dear Bride
You have so much invested in this day. Time, effort and preparation. To some it can feel like their whole life has been leading up to this one big day. Everything needs to come together at the same time in the same place, not just flowers and food, but people, in the right places at the right time.
Unexpected moments. This is my style distilled down into two words. Adopting a documentary style of photography means to record what happens without intruding or overtly directing proceedings; A visual record of those connections between you and your friends and family, and your husband to be, exchanging glances, smiles and even tears…This is your opportunity to take a new approach to how you view the world, to be bold and throw caution to the wind, to seize the moment, I will be right there beside you.
Colour and light are the tools of my trade, I use both to grab those fleeting glances or haunting shadows. Capturing a profile in these moments lets you see the familiar in ways that are completely new, this is what I do; not direct your wedding into a one size fits all album of staged images.
Your portraits are where I step in to give you that bit of direction in how to pose so we can create the ever lasting sculptures that add to your moments that have already been captured.
My role comes to fruition when you can look at the images and wonder how you hadn’t even noticed I was there taking the shot. Your images should provide not just joy at remembering the perfect moment but also surprise at the moments you missed….
